What’s the difference between a PIN and a PUK code?

PIN code

Your PIN code is used to unlock your eSIM. You’ll need to enter it every time you turn on your phone. When you get a new eSIM, it comes with a PIN code, which you can change later on if you want.

Good to know: You have 3 tries to enter the correct PIN code. If you enter it incorrectly 3 times, your eSIM will lock itself as a security measure. In that case, you’ll need your PUK code to unlock it.

PUK code

The PUK code is used to unlock your eSIM if it gets blocked, usually after entering the wrong PIN multiple times. The PUK code typically has more digits than the PIN code.
